It is widely regarded as the best place in Africa to get close to large elephant herds, and encounters with Maasai giraffe, lion, cheetah, Cape buffalo, zebra, and wild dog are a regular feature of game drives here. Spend two days exploring with morning and afternoon drives, relaxing at the exquisite Tortillis Camp where every tent enjoys a private view of the mountain.

After a leisurely lunch on the lawn with views of Mount Longonot, join the resident naturalist for a guided walk through the conservancy, then hop aboard a boat for a ride to Crescent Island — a sanctuary where giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 450 bird species roam freely with no predators. Home to the Big Five and the stage for the world-famous Great Migration (July–October), the Mara's endless golden plains stretch to the horizon under vast African skies. Your base is the exclusive Elewana Sand River Maasai Mara, positioned right on the migration route along the scenic Sand River, with views across to the grassy hills of Tanzania. Spend two full days on exhilarating game drives — witnessing predator hunts, river crossings, and the sheer spectacle of thousands of animals on the move.
